The Wicker Woman

Population: 3 returned to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2003 in collaboration with director David Sant from world-famous clown trio Peepolykus, with an all new comedy show inspired by Seventies cult film The Wicker Man.

Beautiful young policewoman Sergeant Chastity Howie and her enigmatic boyfriend Brad are holidaying on the remote Scotch island of Pepperidge in Scotchland.

But the island's valuable wind farm has run out of wind, and the locals have a plan to get it back... Live human sacrifice and folk songs guaranteed.

After sell-out shows and incredible reviews at the 2003 Edinburgh Fringe, and a sell-out tour of Belfast, London and the South of England in Spring 2004, The Wicker Woman returned to Edinburgh for a ten-show run at The Pleasance in August 2004, and is again touring Arts Centres around the country in the Autumn of 2004.

Lloyd Evans, The Spectator

'Utterly hilarious... you may be helpless to the point of crying with laughter'
Mary Brennan, The Herald

'Seasoned threesome James Bachman, Barunka O'Shaughnessy and Lucy Montgomery combine cringeworthy gags with wonderfully cheap special effects and breathless costume changes... A brainless, blazing cult in the making'
Bruce Dessau, Evening Standard

'Not only scorchingly funny but blisteringly brilliant... comedy genius... going to set the Festival on fire'
Claire Whitefield, ThreeWeeks

'Offers so much stand-alone amusement that any in-jokes about The Wicker Man seem like unexpected bonuses... Come back and watch the show a second time'
Tracey S Rosenberg, Fest

'Genuinely funny... keeps the laughs coming thick and fast. The playing is pitch perfect'
Eddie Harrison, Metro

'Fast-paced, inventive and sharply humorous'
David Pollock, The List

'A riot of stupid gags, brilliant invention and hilariously off-kilter acting... packed with inspired ideas and executed with impressive gusto and skill'
Steve Bennett, Chortle.co.uk

'More than stands up to the hype that surrounds it, and the five star reviews currently being lavished upon it by, it seems, almost every reviewer in the city are thoroughly deserved'
Sharon Cribbin, Comedy Lounge
