David Sant

David, director of Population: 3's second and third shows, The Wicker Woman and The Elephant Woman, trained at Dramatic Art School Barcelona, Ecole Philippe Gaulier, and Philippe Genty.

As part of Peepolykus he has appeared in Edinburgh, London and around the world in Rhinoceros, Goose Nights, Horses for Courses, The Midsummer Rude Mechanicals, I am a Coffee and Let the Donkey Go.

Other theatre work includes: Royal Court Theatre (Hysteria by Terry Johnson), The Gate Theatre (The Lovers), Trestle Theatre Company (Running Dogs, Passion Fish), National Theatre of Italy (Adrian Memories) as well as his one man show The Titanic, The Doctor and Mussolini.

He has directed and co-written shows for 10 Spanish and British theatre companies (3 of which have won Best Show awards at International Festivals). He has translated John Hegley’s poetry to Spanish and performed with him at the ICA and on Radio 4.

Film and TV: Dr Who (BBC), Electric Eel (ITV), Stop the World (BBC Choice), Not Waving but Drowning, Carmen (BBC), Comedy Nation (BBC), My Family (ITV).

He used to be a mime artist and a puppeteer in Spain, as well as stuntman in the great Barcelona Opera del Liceo.

In 2004, Peepolykus brought their fifth show, Mindbender, to the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith. They are currently working on an adaptation of three plays by the New York writer David Ives called All In The Timing.

In the Autumn of 2004, David will be directing the fourth season of Ealing Live!.
