Exploring Growing Population Solutions
The growing population fueled by cheap oil and natural resources has almost reached its upper limit for growth. The problem being now that with this ever expanding population and dwindling resources, there will no doubt be a collapse.
Since the economy is tied to the availability of cheap resources, when these start to become increasingly costly the inevitable consequence will be hard impacts on societies across the globe, starting with the poorest.
Though it may well be that the poor have the resilience to cope much better through these crises as in many places they have had to survive without the luxuries of modern society.
Places in the west however will find it increasingly difficult to adapt to the newer harsher economic climates and the hardships it will bring since they are accustomed to basic amenities and utilities which they have become dependent upon.
There needs to be a sharp change in the way we consume resources, as currently the governmental model relies on exponential growth in order to maintain its control over society and capitalism which is totally unsustainable, for governments cannot simply to continually rev the engine (and the economy) faster and faster before some of the major parts fail.
Governments across the globe lack any sort of coherent plan which tackles the problems facing the human race and instead continue with a little tweak to the current system here and there, in essence trying to keep a system which was designed hundreds of years ago, going.
One only needs to look at the governments institutions of parliament and the legal systems to see they are ancient institutions, with a business plan and governing model which hasn't seen any fundamental change and is desperately in need of retirement.
To consider for one minute possible alternatives is seemingly very difficult because we have never known another system and it has been repeatedly echoed "it's the best system we've got". However one only needs to look at technological change in comparison, where we have real competitive markets in force to witness the rapid change which is possible given a truly competitive market.
Clearly the system of government and democracy we suffer is not at all a real market, it is not competitive in the real sense, and as a result we are left to endure year after year of incompetence, corruption and at this point the most serious problem we currently face is in-action.
Governments unable to effect real change in design of their systems, stare glaringly in the light as this train wreck as it is about to engulf them and all who suffer under them.
Right now we need a new design, a totally new political system which chooses its leaders and authorities based according to their abilities chosen by the leading authorities in any sector, which is contrary to the top down system where the so-called leader (prime-minister) chooses every candidate, which results in nepotism and incompetence.
Right now we need a totally impartial legal system which operates also as a competitive system, again not owned and controlled from the top down but instead operating according to a set of standards which is laid down in law but where the institution itself operating as a competitive service provider.
Right now we need a totally new and sophisticated banking system which operates as an all encompassing benefits system and taxation system, working according to difference principles than currently, namely that the currency is not expanded according to decisions made arbitrary by banks but according to the demand within the system which is apportioned by the benefits paid out to people in need.
